A safety attendant is on duty, while village officials take turns to patrol the area for children's safety. A Haoling Village official said the free pool was built to prevent children from swimming in open water, reducing the risk of drowning, adding that it is a small but practical thing the village Party branch has done for local residents. According to Xinhua news, the pool was built two years ago. Pool water is drawn from Baita canal and later discharged into farmland for irrigation, allowing the water to be reused.
